When I got married, it was a rainy Sunday in March. The temperature was good, but the weather was miserable.
That was 30 years ago.
A trend that was beginning back then was destination weddings, many in Jamaica. So I asked myself, if I could redo my wedding day but instead do it in sunny Jamaica, what resort would it be?
Here’s my list for the best resorts to get married in Jamaica:
- Round Hill Hotel and Villas
- Sandals Ochi Beach Resort
- Beaches Negril Resort & Spa
- Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites
- The Caves
Let me explain why I picked these resorts. I’ll talk about the rooms followed by restaurants.
And to cap it off, I’ll describe the activities you can enjoy on or near the property. If you’re ready to plan your dream wedding, you can use the link on the right or down below to select your resort.
If you’re looking for an intimate wedding, Round Hill Hotel and Villas should be on your list.
How does this sound?
There are only 27 private villas. If you’d rather stay in one of the 36 oceanfront guestrooms designed by Ralph Lauren, you’ll be greeted by plantation-shuttered windows or balcony. Inside is a four-poster bed, walk-in shower, dual vanities and a soaking tub.
You’re getting married. The ambiance is set. Likely you’ll spend your honeymoon here. So you’ll want that luxury feel for the remainder of your stay.
That’s why the Round Hill Restaurant is among the best there is. You’ll enjoy dishes created by a James Beard award-winning chef and choose from a wine list recognized with the “Award of Excellence” in 2014 by Wine Spectator.
If you choose a villa, you can take your cooked-to-order breakfast on your private terrace.
When you’re ready for dinner, the rooftop restaurant, The Grill, provides fantastic views of the ocean. The smoky aroma of the sweet wood cooking sustainably-grown, organic produce is the perfect way to finish the evening. You can even enjoy breakfast there if you choose.
When you’re not enjoying your villa or authentic Jamaican food, there are a host of actives to enjoy, particularly if you like water sports. Here’s a quick rundown:
- Scuba diving
- Glass bottom boat
- Speedboat trips
If the only thing you’d like to do in the water is swim or get your toes wet, you can always play golf or tennis. If shopping is what you would define as a sport, then the Round Hill Gift Shop & Boutique is probably for you.
Rooms at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort scream luxury no matter what category of room you select.
Considering that you are planning a wedding and honeymoon, the Love Nest Luxury Suites might be your first choice.
Or perhaps you’d like the attention that a private butler affords in the Butler Elite. Club Sandals or Sandals Luxury might be more to your liking, complete with refined luxury and hospitality if you’re willing to spend more.
No matter what you choose, I think you’ll have a wedding and honeymoon you will remember for a very long time.
There’s no shortage of dining options here at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort. With 16 different restaurants to choose from, you should have no problem finding something you like. And they are included in your package:

Like most of the resorts on this list, Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites is all-inclusive. And it gets very high ratings on Trip Advisor.
And what would you expect at a resort made famous by James Bond. The rooms are spacious with many positioned to give you the most spectacular ocean-views available.
One of the great things about all-inclusive resorts is the food. And Iberostar doesn’t disappoint.
- Miranda Hill Buffet
- Aunt Ruby Buffet & Rotisserie
- Calabash Gourmet Restaurant
- Mare Nostrum Mediterranean Restaurant

- Sole Mio Italian Restaurant
If you’re health conscience, you’ll be able to keep active and enjoy your Jamaican paradise.
With everything from basketball, to volleyball and golf, you can engage in activities you love. In addition, the Aliveness program integrates with the spa to give you a relaxing way to reconnect.
Accommodations available at The Caves has an authentic island feel no matter if you choose a villa, ocean front cottage, or a suite. And while you have that island feel, you’ll still get modern touches and conveniences such as:
- Complimentary WiFi
- Mosquito net & fan
- Royal Hut bathrobes
- Nightly turn-down service
One of the best things about this resort is that everywhere you look, you are immersed in lush, beautiful surroundings.
The dining experience at The Caves lends itself to a more intimate feel that perfectly complements the surroundings.
No matter what venue you select to dine, you’re assured to have local, fresh produce, authentic Jamaican jerk BBQ and romantic candlelit 5-course meals.
- Bamboo Terrace
- The Gazebo
- Private Dining
- The Sands
The Caves in of itself is a unique experience. There’s a reason why it’s called The Caves. And the ambiance that’s created is truly one of a kind. So it’s no surprise the activities complement the environment.
As is to be expected, watersports is on the agenda.
But most resorts aren’t going to be led by a cliff diving expert. Your guide will take you on a snorkeling expedition that includes going through the natural caves. You might even get a visit from a school of dolphins that patrol the area.
When Every Choice Is a Good Choice
The best thing about these resorts is that all provide the ideal environment to get married in Jamaica.
Most on this list are all-inclusive resorts. It makes planning, not just the wedding, but also the honeymoon easy and, just as important, affordable.
